Keeper of Tradition – Source of Creation
The Cultural Association of Thrapsanos was founded in 19XX with the main goal of preserving, promoting and reviving the cultural and folkloric heritage of our village, Thrapsanos – the largest and historical pottery center of Crete.
Since the beginning of its operation, the Association has been a vibrant cultural institution, supporting actions that enhance collectivity, expression and creation. It organizes cultural events, musical and theatrical evenings, traditional festivals, dance performances, folk art exhibitions and educational workshops for young and old.
Particular emphasis is placed on the preservation and promotion of the traditional ceramic art, for which Thrapsano is world-famous. At the same time, the Association ensures the recording of local history, customs, dialect and every aspect of the life of our place.
With the power of cooperation and the support of the residents, we continue with passion to serve culture, build bridges between generations and keep the identity of Thrapsano alive.
